The ways to visit Cavallino Treporti can be many, but certainly the most suitable are those that best blend with its naturalistic vocation. To fully appreciate the breathtaking landscapes, one must hop on a bicycle or a small rowing boat and set out to explore the territory. The routes are characterized by passing through the diverse landscapes of the lagoon territory. On foot or by bicycle, you encounter cultivated fields, embankments immersed in the northern lagoon that run alongside fishing valleys and vegetable gardens, but also pine forests and dunes, and an open-air museum circuit, La Via Dei Forti, which boasts around 200 fortifications built between 1845 and 1920. A journey between present and past for an experience that will lead you to live tradition and innovation, genuine taste, and culture.

Thanks to the cycle paths and routes that cross the entire coastline, you can venture into the discovery of this corner of paradise. You can embark on an adventure without a specific destination, or follow the cycle tourist itineraries developed for you and your family by the Tourist Park of Cavallino-Treporti in collaboration with Venezia Opportunità, Coldiretti, and the Veneto Environmental Tourism Manifesto.

Each itinerary will reveal the peculiarities of our territory. Pedaling on a bicycle, you can admire picturesque views, linger on details, be intoxicated by scents, grasp the chromatic nuances that succeed each other throughout the day, and be enchanted by the songs of birds, the rustling of vegetation moved by the gentle breeze rising from the sea or the lagoon.

The Three Waters Pathway

The route touches the River Sile, the Adriatic Sea, and the Northern Lagoon, blending together to offer unique views with various shades of blue. It's a loop itinerary, mostly away from traffic and easily navigable.

The Vegetable Gardens of the Lagoon Pathway

The route starts from the bridge over the Pordelio Canal and crosses the historic center of Treporti with its two bell towers in search of enchanting scenery among vegetable gardens and gardens. You encounter the open spaces of the lagoon with the islands of Burano and San Francesco in the background, the small ancient village of Prà di Saccagnana, the former convent of Mesole, the succession of mudflats and fishing valleys inhabited by noisy flocks that create splashes of color as far as the eye can see. Until Lio Piccolo, which fascinates with its Romanesque origins.

The Fortifications Pathway


The Fortifications Pathway is a historical route, a widespread open-air museum circuit linking fortifications dating from the period 1845 - 1920. Among these are the majestic Battery Amalfi and Forte Treporti, at Punta Sabbioni. It is possible to visit the restored Battery V. Pisani, which has now become a museum. Inside, exhibitions and displays will take you on a journey to discover the history that connects Cavallino-Treporti to the Great War.

The Sunset Pathway

The Sunset Pathway, excluding the short stretch of the dam leading to the Pagoda lighthouse, is also a loop route. Starting from Punta Sabbioni in an anticlockwise direction, you can see on the right: the island of Sant'Erasmo, once called "the garden of Venice" during the time of the Serenissima Republic, the civil engineering work of the MOSE, the barrier protecting Venice from the damage caused by high water, and the superb view of the sea. After leaving the beach, you then immerse yourself in the pine forest of Punta Sabbioni and can wander through forest trails and country lanes.
